In the bed, rolling around in the sheets; staring at the paper for math, realizing the numbers were doing anal; looking over and seeing his brother intently doing something on the laptop and therefore wouldn't give up to play with him; heading down the hallway and seeing his parents were out and the maids were cleaning up after the mess he had made in his room; then sitting outside and just enjoying the day. After about three minutes of admiring the flowers in bloom, Kaoru found himself indescribably bored- more so then had had been half an hour ago; and it wasn't until he moved his seat did he realize there was only one solution to the problem.
See Haruhi of course!
Bribe her to let him in with strawberry cake and tea!
Why didn't he think of this sooner? That was half an hour that he would, unfortunately, never get back in his lifetime.
Running inside, he headed up the flight of stairs of the bedroom he shared with Hikaru, heading into the closet. Rows of clothes met him, all designed by his mother, and some by yours truly. He shifted through his clothes quickly before changing from his school uniform ( he didn't bother to change, he thought he would finish some homework first as soon as he gets home before he forgot, but didn't feel like doing it when it was in front of him), and exchanging it for a pair of beige shorts, a white tee and sandals. Checking himself briefly in the mirror, he flicked his head to the side, letting his golden bangs jerk to the side, out of his amber eyes. After a second, he headed out the door, waving to Hikaru and heading down the stairs to the car; calling the driver to take him to the commoner's complex right away. Before he left, however, he grabbed the box of cake and a bag of tea that his father had brought back from his trips, putting it into a bag as he clambered into the car.
Leaning back, he felt the engine purr before it pulled out of the driveway, starting the drive to the where he knew Haruhi lived. He hoped that she wasn't busy, well aware that she was on a scholarship, her grades determined if she was allowed to stay in class, and what classes they would be. Of course, she was smart, he knew that, but he also acknowledged that sometimes the Host Club and Tamaki's wild ideas often caused all of them to stay behind with meetings and such. Unlike them, Haruhi couldn't by her way into the academy with money. Despite that, she seemed content nevertheless. His amber orbs glazed as he looked out the window, seeing buildings, trees, and people pass by as the car hummed and moved forward. He ran his fingers through his hair with a sigh.
Getting out of the car, he told the driver that he would call when he needed to be picked up again. The words, to his ears, sounded sidetracked as he looked up at the building in front of him, doors lining up from one end to the other. He shuddered and applauded Haruhi for living in such small conditions- he couldn't do that, he would have gotten bored easily.
Climbing up the steps, he boy stopped in front of the door, the bag in hand. His hand was raised and poised in front of the door, and with three short raps against the wood, he stuffed his hand casually into his pockets. Immediately, he regretted it- what if she wasn't home? He should have called her. What if he ran into her father? Or woke him up after a hard night of working? He would feel pretty shitty.
Biting his lip, he waited. Too late to change his mind now.

Haurhi was having an unusually uneventful day. After the events of the last year, every day had been filled with drama, suspense, and an overall hectic atmosphere. No matter how much she did not want to admit it, it was actually quite fun. Sure, she kept her cold, composed exterior, but she was actually having quite a good time in the school’s host club. Yes, it was a frivolous activity that her old self would have completely and utterly objected to, but now, everything had changed.
She stepped gracefully out of the small, rusty shower she had occupied for the last fifteen minutes or so. Wrapping a towel around herself, she walked into her small bedroom to find something to put on. Clothes were not quite her specialty on the weekends. Weekdays were so easy, since she was able to just wear the same uniform daily. It was always the purple blazer and black pants, not much else to add or think about. Luckily she had found herself some sort of style, despite her monetary hindrances, and pulled out a slightly baggy, but still cute looking dress and layered a tank top underneath. She got dressed quickly after drying her hair and placing two barrettes matching her dress in her short, brown hair to keep it out of her face.
Haruhi looked around the house for her father, but he must have left while she was showering. He had mentioned to her that he had some sort of business to attend to, but she hadn’t wanted to hear details and let him go. It wasn’t long before her stomach was growling, so she ran to the kitchen to check for any signs of edible food. She sighed at the sparse contents, but managed to find something quickly to eat. After her meal, she took out the pad of paper she used to make shopping lists and made a quick list of groceries to purchase today.
It was surprising no one from the Host Club had yet to enter her seemingly familiar day. It was times like these, the simple, slow times, that someone like Tamaki would bust through the door, gang behind him, ready for some sort of ridiculous adventure. Hmm. Tamaki. That boy could drive her up the wall sometimes with his ridiculousness. He was impossible. Absolutely insane...and yet... Ugh. Her thoughts were jumbled at the thought of him, but she just could not understand why. She felt her face flushing at the thought, despite the lack of company.
Haruhi was distracted from her thoughts by the short rapping coming from her front door. Dropping the pencil she was holding, she walked quickly to see who might be there. Surely it couldn't be the entire host club, they would not be bothered to knock; they would just feel free to bust in, invitation aside. She swung the door open, expecting to see a friend of her fathers, but instead, it was Kaoru.
”Oh! Kaoru, hey.” Haruhi said, slightly surprised at seeing one of the twins outside her door. She didn’t understand why everyone had always found them impossibly difficult to tell apart, it really wasn’t that hard for her. They had such distinct personalities once she got to know them that it was impossible for her now to make a mistake. ”Um, what brings you here?” She questioned, giving him a slight smile as she looked up at the boy who seemed infinitely taller than she was. Kaoru, under Haruhi's gaze, shifted his weight from one foot to the other. He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand and averted his gaze to the bottom corner of the door as he muttered out his reply. 'Sorry to bother, Hikaru has been doing homework and I'm bored,' he explained ruefully, turning his golden gaze to the student, fellow Host Club member standing before him. Of course, he was confident that she would let him in, after all, they were good friends and they supported to each other- but to Kaoru, there's no denying that, without Hikaru to stand by his side, he felt naked and empty a little. And though he was sure that his twin was alright, his mind simply couldn't let that be and just move on with what he's doing. He's constantly finding his thoughts traveling to the elder twin, wondering just what the other half was up to.
He blinked and finally held the bag up to her eye level, completely too lost in his thoughts to remember even why he was standing on her doorstep awkwardly. 'I-uh, brought us some black coffee my father had given me during one of his trips,' he finally said, his tone sheepish- really now, how was he doing to have a decent conversation if he couldn't even focus? Jeeze, it seemed that things were harder now that they were trying to become more independent, what next? Quitting the 'brotherly love' package at the Host Club? That would simply be awful.
Then a thought occurred to him. What if she was busy? Was she going somewhere? Would she allow him to tag along, it was true that Kaoru could be as much of a handful as Hikaru was, but unlike the other, he could control himself more- that didn't mean that Haruhi would want to spend the day with him, after suffering an entire week of their antics and shenanigans. 'You're not... busy, are you?' he asked meekly, blinking.
