Looking around absently, Kaoru can't help but let a worried frown cross his features as he looked around the hall slowly, the sounds of his footsteps being carried away with the sounds the other students at Ouran Academy was making. Around him girl stopped and watched his graceful strut as he casually made his way down to the infamous Music Room, music room number three to be precise; one hand in his pocket, the other swinging by his side, holding his books from the last class casually. Despite the attention he was getting, all of it seemed to fly past him, for at a time like there, there was only one thing that clouded his mind, one thing that made him very... how to put it delicately... unobservant to the things around as only one coherent train of thought settled over and clouded his mind. Where was Hikaru?
It was true that the devious doppelganger ran out of the class, muttering something about his language grade (which isn't surprising, he was failing that class), but he had promised to meet Kaoru at the entrance to the library, where they would walk to the Host Club together and make their usual dramatic entrance (you can't have brotherly love if your brother isn't there). But after a minute or two, the golden haired boy decided to get to the room first, just so they bother wouldn't be unfashionably late. At least, he would be able to defend his callous brother if Kyouya decided to ask why they hadn't shown up, followed by some numbers as he lectured about how their rates would drop; all while writing things in that book of his. Who knows what he writes in there, it could be a list of names that would end up on the hit list after he has successfully taken over the world.
His hand paused against the handle thoughtfully. He let his amber gaze rake the halls for the tell tale signs of his bother. It seemed air thickened, even the girls knew that the brothers never left each others side, unless they were putting up another mock fight, even so, they would still be seen together- naturally at each others throats and hurling, spitting insults, but still.. together. However, the similar voice much like his own didn't call out to him, demanding why he had left him hanging in the library, that familiar mop of styled golden hair wasn't seen between the heads of the girls who had gathered around the entrance, waiting for their turn. Seeing none of the troublesome twin, he smirked the infamous smirk at the girls, pulling himself together and acting out his role anyway- before pulling open the door and entering himself. He stepped inside the familiar atmosphere that his Highness had to offer.
Inside- well, there was nothing new. There wasn't a theme today. The tables were scattered about the room, Tamaki was already there, being the top King with his high rates; Honey and Mori were doing something.. weird; Haruhi looked a little bored, and Kyouya, naturally, was writing things down (only heavens knew what), convincing the girls around him to buy some photos of the host members. The question was never answered, when did he take pictures of them? They weren't exactly mug shots he was selling on the Host Club homepage.
Nodding as their eyes met, he moved to sit down in his usual spot by the seat, propping one leg up thoughtfully and looked around, waiting for the next girl to approach him. He leaned forward and rested his chin on his knees, looking around, grinning despite himself, this was the life.

Looking about the rather desolate hallway, Miyuki wondered as to if she had made a wrong turn somewhere. Considering that the infamous Host Club was only one set of doors away ... she figured that the surrounding environment would be more crowded, and substantially louder. She craned her neck up, examining the ornate sign above the double doors; the third music room. That was it. Perhaps she was just late, or early. Miyuki wasn’t wearing a watch, and at this moment, figured that she may as well invest in one.
She pushed aside some of the hair that fell into her royal blue eyes, before resting her hand on the door handle. At first, she was hesitant to enter, but then decided to push onward, rather than wait around like an idiot. The door flew open with great force, dragging Miyuki’s arm along with it. This caused her to lose her balance somewhat, but she was able to save herself for the most part. Hopefully nobody saw her awkward shuffle. Miyuki scoffed as she regained her composure; she was most definitely late, as could be told by the sheer amount of girls already present. A fair few of them were giggling incessantly, while others had been brought to the point of squealing so early into the day’s session. Their squeals were so high-pitched, it was borderline supersonic. Miyuki brought a hand to one of her low, black pigtails and clutched it; it was something she did when she was uncomfortable. She wondered if she would ever sound like that.
Seeing how she had arrived in the midst of a fair few activities, Miyuki thought it best to sit down and take in the surroundings. Figure out what was going on per se, and where she would fit in, if anywhere. She spotted a free seat and gravitated towards it, lowering herself down with a fairly audible sigh. To be honest, she didn’t expect to find anywhere to sit, and it felt good knowing that she had beaten everyone else who may have had that chair in their sights. There were a fair few, to her surprise. Then Miyuki rolled her eyes; it seemed pretty obvious, now.
Kaoru Hitachiin – well, Miyuki thought it was him - was practically begging for attention, scoping the room and wearing his trademark smirk. It looked as if he was up to something. Miyuki rose slightly, worrying as to whether she had walked into a terrible trap. She wasn’t keen on becoming Ouran Academy’s newest laughing stock. Her eyes rushed to the floor as she checked for ropes or fishing line or a trap door. Not that she knew much about the tricks that Kaoru and his brother liked to play on people, but it was better to be safe than sorry. After a few seconds of searching without spotting anything out of place, she lowered herself down onto the chair again, placing her hands into her lap.
“Hi,” Miyuki said, putting on a smile. “What’s up?”

Despite the minor (that can't be considered minor) problem that Hikaru wasn't with him, he found himself with a customer anyway. In fact, there was she, he knew her from his class at one point or another, but being the guy who had girls everywhere around him wherever he went, he didn't really have a chance to talk to her- say hello or ask her how she was doing. But there was she, in her yellow dress and shoes that made up the posh school uniform, nearly tripping and falling flat on her face with a rather peculiar expression on her face. Frankly, if she did fall, it would tall all self control within him not to burst out laughing. It was just who he was, it was a habit, laugh at others, push them further away from their world; the world of 'us' and 'them', the beings that made up 'the idiots' and 'us'. Though the thought that he may lose a few more then one regular customer, he didn't; but that didn't stop the small smile that graced his lips slyly as he tilted his head to the side and watched her take a seat in the couch that hardly anyone was occupying. Why would they be there? After all, they were gathered around their favorite host until their time limit ran dry- and Kyouya would be there in a flash of an eye, a shady smile on his face as he waved them off so the next wave of eager girls could pour through the doors.
Speaking of that, he turned and looked that the vice president thoughtfully- no doubt that the Host Club wouldn't have stayed afloat if he hadn't been in it- especially with all that he's done with finances. But a movement caught his eyes, and his steel amber eyes swerved back to the pigtailed girl, who was now making her wonderfully awkward way over to where he was sitting. No doubt, he had seen the grin that he wore just a few moments prior, and now smart girl was looking around herself, wondering if, at any moment, someone horrible would happen to her. Clever, but he wouldn't pull something like that without his twin (which, he noted, hadn't arrived yet).
He turned the smile into a more.. considerate one as she sat down across from her, occupying the seat that was, admirably, farthest away from him. Was it that he smelled? Most would have moved to the cushion directly to the right of him, so he could be closer to her and talk to her in a more intimate manner. Was she new here? It was normal for the newer ones to do that. Nodding at her, he chuckled. 'I'm sorry, my twin is busy with some work, he'd arrive shortly,' he promised, the first thing he said. This girl probably wanted the brotherly love package (if she had only wanted him as a host, he hadn't been told that by the vice president), and felt the need to explain why the act wasn't being played as of the moment. His gaze leveled to the marvelous blue eyes as he spoke, his voice smooth and sultry. 'Evening, Princess,' he acknowledged quietly with a slight dip of his head. 'Nothing much; I was actually quite bored until you arrived you must be... Miyuki?' he questioned, racking his brain for the name- he had a list somewhere in his pack, but he didn't feel like getting up.
Come to think of it, this is probably one of the few times he's seen without his brother and trying to be acknowledged by him as they put on the play. He wondered how she was react now that he's turning his attention-seeking love on her.

Post by Maybelle on Apr 6, 2011 23:51:02 GMT -5
Maybelle, bored with nothing better to do, trudged her way to somewhere she wasn't exactly keen to go. Still, it had-thanks to her closest friend-become a terrible habit to make her way thoughtlessly to the same place after school everyday. In the west wing, in the high school, in the abandoned music room. The sophomore prayed inside of her head that at least one of her friends would be there, because if they weren't it was bound to get awkward, and Maybelle would have to become a wallflower until one of the girls she felt comfortable around made their appearance. Not that the blonde couldn't do anything by herself, but the host club wasn't exactly...home to her. In fact, it was anything but. Still, Shion-the sour girl's best friend by far-always dragged her along, and now Maybelle felt as if it were routine to show up and hang around, though she didn't talk to many people unless spoken to. She reminded herself that Shion was still a freshman, and letting someone younger than you control your after-school activities couldn't be healthy-or normal, at that. Still, Shion enjoyed it, so Maybelle wouldn't complain aloud. It was a decent waste of time, sometimes, when interesting events occurred. That, of course, for the ever impossible-to-impress girl could come as a struggle. When something bored her, it was extremely difficult to entertain her. Of course, that could just be her, after all.
The young American teenager, dull hazel eyes gazing around, was met by a large door that loomed over her. It was golden, and as beautiful as any other door here at Ouran Academy. She studied it, wondering to herself if going in was worth it today. Her younger companion wasn't with her-she'd stayed home sick-so this would make entrance a great test of emotional strength on her part. Not that she was scared, (Maybelle? Scared? Ha!) but she was at least a bit intimidated. This was the first time she had ever come to the Host Club alone. She twirled some blonde locks around her finger, and commenced a starring contest with the gate before her. Would that get her anywhere? Of course not, but her little glare-down was a way to put her arrival off for a few seconds. She sighed, deciding if she didn't force herself to latch onto the handles and push them down to open the doors soon, she'd wind up standing there, mouth agape, looking like an idiot all day. She gathered all the strength she could muster and pushed open the doors in a way that could be taken as timidly. (Not that Maybelle was a timid type of girl.) Her blue-green and brown-streaked eyes did a quick sweep of her surroundings.
Please let there be someone I know... she thought to herself. Her eyes, sharp as daggers. Stranger, stranger, stranger...she listed each new face in her head, hoping to see one, just one, familiar face. Her prayers were shortly answered upon seeing two dark pigtails hanging down. No doubt, that was Miyuki. No one else their age had the gall to go and wear such a childish hair style, so there was no way it was someone else. Maybelle and Miyuki had met freshman year-and after several complicated events, they had bonded. Miyuki was one of the few people that Maybelle felt close to. She tossed some golden locks from her face, and walked over to her friend.
"Is that a Miyuki I see?" She chuckled, tapping on the girls shoulder. The normally negative girl was in a pleasant mood today, and seeing a friend in this area had helped that. "Since when do you visit here? I don't believe I've ever seen you come," This was true, as Maybelle would have noticed Miyuki's presence...unless she was being really dense and zoned out that much. She hushed her voice to a coarse whisper; Am I glad to see you, Shion couldn't come today, and I was racking my brain worrying that I'd be alone in this hell," She grinned that ever evil-looking grin that read 'Now I have someone to share in my misery' and rested her arm on her peer's shoulder. She looked at Kaoru, who, if she remembered was in her class...or was that Hikaru? Come to think of it, Maybelle had never troubled her brain to figure out which was which, and she couldn't be bothered to-which ever one was Kaoru was Koaru, and whichever one was Hikaru was Hikaru-either way, it didn't matter. She didn't care to know which was which, and she didn't care to know them at all. Still, she still found herself in a pleasant mood, and wasn't in the state of mind to start any trouble. "Hey," she nodded the nameless-twin's way, letting him know she realized he was there. She then debated in her mind if there was a difference between the two, other than their first names, of course. This was an interesting thought, and it kept her mind occupied. She wondered if one was a do-gooder and the other was the 'evil twin.' This was an entertaining notion, as she'd read and seen a lot of books, movies, and soap operas where the main character had an 'evil' twin brother/sister. She always wondered if she had a twin sister-though she knew she didn't-and if so, who would be the evil one? Wait, thinking about that, Maybelle would be, no competition. "Hey, Miyuki," she turned back to her friend. "After this is over, wanna go to the store with me? I need to get some soup for Shion," her eyes were dull, and they radiated her current state of solid boredom. She waited with those eyes focused on Miyuki. "Well?"

Miyuki tilted her head to the side, wondering why on earth Kaoru was apologising. People were late all the time; gosh, even she herself was sort of late today. Then it occurred to her; it was probably why no one else was seated on the couch other than herself. The Hitachiin twins had that ... ‘thing’ that they did. She wasn’t exactly sure as to what it entailed, but she supposed it was the defining piece of their ‘little devil’ act. Still, saying hello first wouldn’t have been such a big ask. Miyuki wondered as to whether he expected her to be mad. The Ouran Host Club was supposed to cater to those with plenty of spare time on their hands, and Miyuki certainly had plenty of that. Her father, as much as she loved him, wasn’t home that often. So yes, she had enough spare time to wait for Hikaru to show up, if that was so important.
“It’s not a problem. I mean, we’re all late sometimes-”
Her ramblings were cut short as it seemed that Kaoru had made the transition into ‘host mode’. Miyuki wasn’t going to lie; she secretly enjoyed being called a princess, although she felt uncomfortable having Kaoru look into her eyes. It wasn’t that she didn’t like her eyes; in fact, she liked them very much. It was just that staring into someone’s eyes was such a ... personal thing. She felt as if her mind was being read like a book, and she didn’t trust Kaoru entirely. Well to be honest, she didn’t trust him at all; she had never spoken to him much before, despite the fact that they were in a few classes together.
After a few seconds of staring into Kaoru’s amber eyes, Miyuki blinked rather deliberately and chose to focus her gaze on the patch of wall behind him. “Yep, that’s right! I’m Miyuki Arishima. I think we’re in ... history together, and probably some others.” She had considered saying his name, but she was only semi-sure that it was Kaoru she was talking to. He had the reputation of being quite mischievous, and there was nothing stopping him and his brother from trading places to catch people out. “Would you mind if I had some of this?” Miyuki was eyeing the tea set that sat on the table between them. She felt as if her mouth was a little dry, and she wouldn’t have minded a drink.
She jumped a little in her seat as she felt a hand touch her shoulder. Only when she turned around and realise it was Maybelle did she relax completely. She considered herself and Maybelle to be friends; they had met last year.
“You see correctly!” Miyuki’s face grew into a big smile; it was nice to see Maybelle in such a good mood. “And I visit as of now. See, I’m” she repeatedly gestured to the space between herself and Kaoru “not ‘being hosted’. That’s a terrible choice of words, but you get the idea.” She rolled her eyes and laughed.
It was a bit of a surprise seeing her at the Host Club; the friend who she normally went with was absent from school today. It never crossed Miyuki’s mind to think that Maybelle could possibly enjoy herself here alone. Then as her friend mumbled in her ear, Miyuki giggled; she was correct to think that the Host Club wasn’t Maybelle’s cup of tea.
“Sure, I’ll go to the store with you, but after this, like you said.” It would be interesting if they were going to one of those commoner shops. Still, this made Miyuki wonder as to why they had to go and buy soup. Surely the quality wouldn’t be too grand. Besides, didn’t the Himirai family have chefs? Oh well, she thought, as she dismissed it all from her mind. “Well, I trust you’ll have oodles of fun until then.”
She turned back to Kaoru. “Sorry about that. She's a really good friend of mine. Where were we?”

Hikaru was sitting in the corridor, thinking of nothing and everything. For some reason he did not feel up to the host club today. The resent weeks left him more tired then usual. But a sudden thought brought him to his feet. Kaoru was at the host club, and without him. The brotherly love act only worked with the two of them together. And it always felt odd not holding his brother, or not being around him at all. They were exactly the same, their souls could even be two halves of the same whole. So Hikaru got up off the ground and walked to the music room, thinking now only of the deep way he loved his brother.
Opening the door he saw that there was nothing special about the room, just tables and chairs for the host and their customers. Hikara's eyes scanned the tables until he found his brother, the table already with girls at it. He could not think of a name for any of the girls, so he just walked straight to his brother.
Hikaru wrapped his arms around his brothers neck, taking Kaoru's chin. He pulled him towards him, happy to have his brother back, though they had not been away from eachother for that long. He put his face close to his brother's and spoke in a saddened voice, "Brother, I'm so sorry for leaving you. Now I will never let go." Hikaru gave a squeeze and whispered into his ear, "Sorry for being late."

Maybelle raised one blonde eyebrow as the scene with the two first year brothers took place. It didn't really intrigue her much, but it was there niche, so she decided to leave well enough alone. She sighed and picked at her nails, knowing she was very clearly displaying her boredom, but not caring one way or another. She flipped some of her flaxen, violet-streaked hair from her hazel eyes and concentrated on a nothing a few feet ahead of her. What was she to do with her day without Shion...?
That aside, she figured she might as well find something to entertain herself-if that was at all possible. But it had to be, so many fangirls flocked in swarms to come after school and see the Hosts. There had to be some appeal, right? Now came the challenge of finding that appeal. She figured she might as well sit next to Miyuki, and just go with what happened. She did as planned, settling herself and her pastel-colored uniform down into the curled chair sitting before the tea table. She watched the twins carefully, debating if there was anything interesting about the two. She had to admit they were handsome, no doubt about that. Soft auburn hair, fine light brown eyes with green undertones. Acceptable skin and not to mention they were neither under nor were they over built. Maybe it was the fact they simply weren't her type look wise, or it could have been the age difference made more of a difference to her than it should have. She picked at her nail a little more, before noticing it was chipped and that looked tacky. She sighed under her breath and stopped picking.
"So, Miyuki," she finally chose to speak after a long silence on her part. "What brought you here today, anyway?" She tried to remember if she'd already been told or not. That wasn't important, though, so she pushed that aside. The Sophomore decided that if something interesting didn't happen in at least fifteen minutes, she was out. She then realized that that might seem...rude. Then her mind reminded that she didn't care, so all was good in the end. What these people thought of her made little to no difference to her. As long as she didn't become too utterly bored, she'd stay. 'I'll just have to see how things play out...' she decided. ((short post is short, sorry. I had no idea what to do.))

Miyuki figured that her question wasn’t really going to be answered as soon as Hikaru – or was it Kaoru? – had made his way into the music room and straight into his brother’s arms. It seemed like any regular conversation was going to be cut off completely to make way for that ... thing that they did. The ‘brotherly love package’? Miyuki didn’t really know what it was called. It was something like that. She placed her hand on her chin as she watched them for a while; she hoped that they were being sincere to each other; otherwise the whole thing seemed rather weird, in her opinion. Miyuki didn’t really see where the fun was in watching two perfectly handsome guys fawn over each other when she figured that the whole point of being a guest to the club was to be fawned over herself. It was then that she came up with her own methodology regarding the brotherly love package. It was simple; imagination was all you needed. She figured that over time, you came to favour one twin and then you substituted the other for yourself. It all sounded much more pleasurable that way.
Meanwhile, Maybelle had seated herself down at a spot to her side, something which surprised Miyuki somewhat. She never really thought that her friend was much of a Host Club type of girl. Then again, she never considered this for herself until she walked in the doors. So far, she seemed to be enjoying herself, although that hardly suggested much. She had been there for what, five minutes? When she was asked what made her decide to visit the third music room all of a sudden, Miyuki found herself a little lost for words; partially because she had drifted off into a bit of a daydream, and partially because she didn’t know exactly how to word it, which bothered her.
Her body tensed up. Why did she have to even ask that question? Luckily, there seemed to be a standard answer that she knew for a fact that many girls used, and it was true, to an extent. “You know how it is. It was on my ‘to do’ list.” She mumbled, her eyes flickering over to Maybelle. For a while she stared at her friend’s violet hair. Miyuki didn’t think that such a vibrant colour would suit her in the slightest, but it didn’t look too bad on Maybelle. “Besides, everyone's always so happy when they talk about it here... and the amount of people telling me to get off my butt and go...” Her voice hushed and became sterner. “It was getting on my nerves a bit.” . Realising that she probably wasn’t giving the best impression, she looked back up to the twins in their embrace and smiled before clasping her hands together in her lap. She wondered what was to become of the situation now. For a moment, she had contemplated saying hello to Hikaru as he walked in, but he and his brother looked too involved in their own actions. It seemed best to leave them at it for a moment or two. Therefore, Miyuki became a little more relaxed in her seat, as she decided to let the hosts do what they did best. Hopefully, she thought, it would be to her liking.

Kaoru wasn't trying to ignore anyone, but frankly the events that passed by in the next minute happened so fast it left his head spinning, unable to quickly gather his wits together. When she had asked him about the drinks, he arched a brow- naturally guests were allowed anything at the table- be it drinks, cake, or sweets. Honey had always consumed quite a sufficient amount himself, but there was always plenty to go around for the lovely ladies to host that. But it seemed she didn't know that. Or maybe it was because she expected him to offer it to her. Either way, before he could really respond, in fact, he hardly at the time to part his lips and answer before someone stepped up and started talking to the girl. 'Of co-' Confused, he blinked and watched those two curiously, his lips pulled together tightly, his amber eyes merely watching with an indifferent expression on his face. He merely nodded when the girl acknowledged him.
After the two chatty girls settled down, he raised a brow and turned to where Kyouya was expectantly- should he be handling walk-ins? Everyone had a schedule to go by. But, once more, before he could truly express his thoughts- lo behold! There Hikaru comes, making a bee-line to where his twin was sitting.
Immediately, like a switch, his eyes turned to his twin and drew his hands up to grip the others blazer tightly, his eyes gazing into the other topaz eyes, almost looking like he was the only person Kaoru had wanted to see all day; or as if they hadn't seen each other in a long time. 'H-Hikaru...' he murmured, trailing off, he turned and managed to discreetly whisper into the others ear. 'Help me!' before turning back to the two with a charming smile.
Standing, he reached for the teapot and poured some into the four cups displayed for all four of them- offering to everyone at the table. 'Ladies, please help yourselves. The Host Club, is here for your needs,' he said smoothly, indication everything on the suface with a flourish of his hand, lowering his eyes respectfully before settling back next to his twin, he paused to give a small cheeky grin at them both.

Miyuki felt a surge of triumph; it was Kaoru who she spoke to first, and it had been confirmed right before her eyes. Of course it was a mere lucky guess, seeing as there was only so much one person could pick up from teachers’ comments and the backs of heads. To make matters more insignificant, she only made this guess to herself, and there was no prize. Despite this, it was still success, and all success was welcome. She bopped up and down on her seat a little bit, turning to Maybelle before realising that she couldn’t read her mind. In all honesty, she preferred it that way herself.
She was very pleased when Kaoru had offered her the tea; it had been a while since she had asked for it and her mouth had gotten considerably dry. Furthermore, he had poured some for himself, eliminating the possibility of the tea being contaminated in some way. Genuine kindness; she never would have guessed. She cradled the cup, examining the elaborate designs on its side. The tea smelled delicious, which came as a relief to Miyuki, considering that rumour going around that the Host Club served commoner’s instant coffee. She imagined it would be hard to pretend that that tasted nice. After all, where would the flavour be, if it’s just powder and water? She sipped her tea. It was delicious, but that was to be expected in a place such as this.
So, the Host Club was here for her needs, was it? Miyuki raised an eyebrow inquisitively, before she grew frustrated. She couldn’t think of anything she needed. Well, maybe some new shampoo, but that was highly irrelevant. Her mind entered into some sort of trance as she wondered what kind of things a guest of the Host Club should ask for. Miyuki’s impression of it all was that she sat pretty while things were handed to her on a silver platter.
With a soft clicking noise, Miyuki set her teacup back onto the table, focussing her attention onto everyone present. “Well, this is very nice, I must say.” She shot a sideways glance to Maybelle, as if to check that she wasn’t laughing at her or anything like that. “ As for my ...” she tilted her head, wishing she had a better way with words “needs as a guest ... what do the other girls ask for?” The look on her face had become quite serious; a stark contrast from most of the other girls in her line of sight, who were swooning and squealing. She certainly didn’t want to make an idiot out herself while at the club. Furthermore, Kaoru and Hikaru had substantial influence on students; she knew too well that they could easily make her life miserable if she said or did something too out of place.
( I tried! XD)
