(( rules ))
(( activity limit ))
- If you apply and fail to post within forty-eight hours after being accepted, your account and application will be deleted.
- Should you fail to finish an application within three weeks of posting it, you will be denied and deleted.
- If at any time you go inactive for more than three weeks, you will be deleted and reopened.
- If you need a hiatus, that is okay! Just please notify the members and moderators about it in a thread post before you go!
- If all you do is post OOC and never IC, you will be reopened three weeks after your last IC post.
(( ooc behavior ))
- Do not be rude to your fellow members. Any bullying or rude behavior will not be tolerated and you will only receive one warning for any unacceptable behavior before you are punished with a ban. The forum defines "rude behavior" as:
- Excessive cursing or crude language.
- Malicious comments or hurtful name-calling.
- Cliquey behavior that excludes one or more members (deliberate or not).
- Uncalled for or rudely phrased critiques to another members writing, character, or out of character posting. Telling someone that they missed a comma or should add an apostrophe or misspelled a word is fine if phrased kindly, but don't look for every excuse to belittle someone.
- Forum spam, double posting or page flooding.
- Lying to moderators about a situation.
In-character drama is great, out of character drama is not. - Do not god-mod or meta game. Your characters are the only ones you should be writing for.
- RESPECT YOUR MODERATORS. We cannot run this board if you refuse to respect us or the rules we put in place. We work hard to keep this afloat for you, so try and take us seriously while we try to make this the best experience for everyone.
- If you are not a moderator, mod-like behavior will NOT be tolerated. The mods of this forum are perfectly capable of running this forum by themselves, thank you, so we do not need unauthorized board members running around trying to police their fellow members. All rule breaking should be reported directly to a moderator and it will be dealt with accordingly.
- Signatures and icons should not be big or obnoxious. We may ask you to resize if needed.
- Your character is just that. A character. They are not you and you are not them, so please keep in mind that anything that happens in this game is fictional and should not be reacted to negatively in the OOC boards or comments. It's great that you get into the roleplay, but if your character is experiencing something unpleasant, that is alright and not a personal attack on you. Anyone who is seen taking the game too personally or seriously will be given a reminder to refrain from such behavior privately.
- All OOC comments in IC posts should be somehow indicated. Any of the following indicators are accepted:
- ((double parenthesis))
- [[double brackets]]
- {{ double braces }}
- ooc: a label that indicates you are now talking our of character.
- sentences in bold-italic and different-colored font.
- ((double parenthesis))
(( ic behavior ))
- Your character has a certain characterization that we expect to be followed. Doing something that seems slightly odd for a character in a specific situation once or twice is alright, but extremely out of character actions are not okay. For example, if you are writing Takashi Morinozuka, it is okay for him to flirt with a girl or act charismatic and talkative while he is extremely tired, but if he is in a completely normal, sober state of mind and he suddenly begins to give an in-detail description about the dream he had last night, that is out of character for him and is not tolerated.
- Please, please, please double check your posts before posting. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation should be handled cautiously and seriously. No text speak, short hand, or emoticons in your replies. No short-hand or *asterisk* roleplaying, please keep things literate.
- Double posting is annoying. Please wait for someone else to post before you reply to a thread again.
- This is a literate roleplay. Short replies are sometimes okay, especially if it was agreed upon by roleplayers that a certain thread will be written with short replies, but no one-liners or laziness in your writing. Please try to match your partners' post length and make sure all of your posts are at least one full paragraph (five sentences long).
- Posting styles are pretty, but keep images reasonably sized.
- All replies should be written is third-person past tense ("Tamaki smirked and made his way over to the coffee maker"). First person narratives ("I smirked and made my way over to the coffee maker"), present tense ("Tamaki smirks and makes his way over to the coffee maker"), or future tense ("Tamaki would then smirk and make his way over to the coffee maker") are not acceptable. We want the forum to be able to read smoothly.
- Please make separate accounts for all characters.
(( application process)) - Please follow the application set up by the forum moderators. Don't edit, use a different one, or create your own during the application process. Anything you want to add into your application that there is not a spot for can be thrown into the "anything else" section. That is why we have it.
- All original character biographies should be three paragraphs, minimum. Canon character biographies should be at least two.
- Proper grammar and spelling only.
- Don't make character images too big.
- If we don't accept you soon enough, posting a bunch or messaging us excessively will not speed us up.
- You may not post until your application has been read over and accepted by a moderator.
- No Haruhi clones (girls that dress as boys, girls with similar or identical personalities, Haruhi color overs.)
- No Mary Sues or Marty Stus. All characters should have three flaws, minimum, in their biographies.
- No self inserts. As stated above, you are not your character and your character is not you. This is a hard rule to enforce as we don't know any of you personally and so it can be hard to pick out a self insert, but if you writing your character with the thought in mind that you want them to be you, don't.
- No canon-character OC relatives. Adding someone in who is Kyoya's sister, Mori's cousin, Tamaki's brother is weird, non-canonical, and not permitted. Exceptions might be made in certain cases if the character is believable, realistic, and okayed by the canon character's roleplayer and a moderator before hand. You will have you post a forum thread asking before any exception is made, though.
- Overpowered characters are annoying. No supernatural powers or excessive talents permitted. It's great if your character can sing, dance, and act, but if your character can sing, dance, act, beat Tamaki at soccer, models in their spare time, builds homes for the needy, has better accounting skills than Kyoya, and makes better grades that Haruhi, that's annoying and not allowed.
- You can reapply if you are denied, but please fix any problems the moderators had with your application before you do so.
- post all applications in the "post applications here!" subboard, not under the application thread.
Rule breakers are party poopers. We will run on a three strike system; one broken rule is a warning, second is a temporary ban, and third will result in a complete forum ban and character removal.
