((Nah, it's all good. ^^ I totally understand the busy thing. The next two weeks are gonna be hell for me - dead week and then exams. But then I get to move out of the dorms FOR GOOD. No more douchebag freshman neighbors pumping the bass at 2am? HELL YEAH.
It's the end of the term for you too, right? Good luck on your exams! C: And studying. And not going insane.
As for this thread coming to an end... We should definitely pick up again somewhere else. Maybe after school? The Host Club would be an interesting venture, if any of the Hosts show up.))
Mao tilted her head slightly as Miyuki prompted her to elaborate. What she meant to be an open-ended and loosely optimistic comment seemed to have been interpreted as something more. Now that she thought about it, that statement clearly echoed what had been running through her head for the past few months. In her situation, where would she be if not for some optimism?
"Oh, no," she said, shrugging it off. "I just meant, you know, may as well enjoy adolescence as much as we can. Won't last forever." Mao smiled at her peer and looked down at her empty bento box. She knew she should probably pack up and get to class in a minute or so. She pulled her bookbag up onto her lap and unzipped the pocket reserved for her bento.
She looked back up at Miyuki, now noticing a definite air of curiosity about her. Mao searched her face for a moment, looking interested. "Did you think I meant something else?"

Forgetfulness; it was frustrating. Miyuki had been pondering what Mao had said so intensely that she seemed to have lost track of where her mind was heading in terms of her ideas. That didn’t happen very often at all. Curse Koizumi and her commoner’s intrigue, snapping Miyuki out of her thoughts so quickly and effortlessly. She pursed her lips in annoyance; this girl was did everything effortlessly, so it seemed, with her casual shrugging and nonchalant attitude to being poor. Miyuki on the other hand, put a great deal of effort and planning into almost every single thing that she did.
“Hmm” She added, feeling a little bit of pity for Mao. It must suck, knowing that one day you’re going to have to grow up and be boring. Sure, some people thought that Miyuki was boring for being so organised, but at least the things that she carefully planned were fun. She knew for a fact that her adolescence wasn’t going to be ending anytime soon. Heck, her dad was in his forties and it seemed like he was still a teenager, at times.
“What? No!” Miyuki was startled; as much as she enjoying questioning others, she didn’t like the feeling of being interrogated herself. She was a little bit hypocritical in that respect. “What makes you think that? You know what? It’s not important.” Her arms folded defensively across her chest, and she took a deep breath. It was what Miyuki did when she needed to calm down, although it didn’t quite work sometimes. But in a minute or so, she would be able to head off to class, and show some questions that she was the boss of them.
Miyuki rose from her seat, pushing her chair under the table from behind. She figured that she might as well leave the dishes on the table; after all, that’s what the academy’s team of cleaning staff was for. A smile stretched across her face as she bowed her head forward. “Well it was nice meeting you today, Mao. I suppose I’ll see you.” With her head held high, she turned away from the junior and walked forward a few steps before turning back. “And don’t worry; I’ll keep your secret” That was, as long as she didn’t get on Miyuki’s bad side. Perhaps then, she’d have a reason to tell.
(I reckon that's it for Miyuki in this thread. The bell's bound to go any second now :3 Now to go back to the plotting threads!)
